VCAD Students Explore Creative Industries Beyond the Classroom

Students from Victoria College of Arts and Design take part in educational visits across London and Manchester, connecting their studies with real-world creative environments.

Students from Victoria College of Arts and Design (VCAD) participated in a series of educational visits across London and Manchester ahead of the summer break, exploring the industries, cultural spaces and creative communities connected to their studies.

The activities formed part of VCAD's commitment to providing practical learning experiences that connect academic knowledge with industry environments.

Connecting Education with Industry

Students visited a range of cultural and commercial destinations, including Tate Modern, the Victoria and Albert Museum, Whitechapel Gallery and V&A East in London.

In Manchester, students explored locations including the Northern Quarter and Afflecks, gaining insight into independent businesses, creative communities and contemporary design.

Visits to major retail destinations, including Selfridges and Liberty, provided further opportunities to investigate branding, visual merchandising and customer experience.

Developing Practical Knowledge and Skills

These experiences encouraged students to conduct primary research, observe creative practices and develop a deeper understanding of the sectors they hope to enter.

Students studying the Certificate of Higher Education in Business and Management for Creatives also participated in a campus networking event with external guests who had industry experience.

By combining classroom learning with practical exposure, VCAD continues to support students in developing their creativity, industry awareness and professional confidence.
